'We Journey With Jesus Beside Us'

Uniform

At St Dunstan’s, we believe that school uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of our school.

We thank parents for supporting our Uniform Policy, which is:

• Grey pinafore dress, skirt or trousers

• Grey trousers (tailored grey shorts may be worn in the summer)

• Pale blue shirt

• Blue ‘St Dunstan’s’ jumper or

• Blue ‘St Dunstan’s’ cardigan

• Blue and white summer dress

• Grey or black tights

• Grey or white socks

• Black shoes (see below for more details)

Our school sweatshirts and cardigans can be purchased through Price and Buckland. All other items of the uniform can be obtained from most shops specialising in children's clothing, including second-hand retailers. We will make sure our uniform is available at a reasonable cost and also run swap shops throughout the school year where parents/carers can access items of uniform for free.

Children in Years 1 to 6 are also required to wear a school tie. These are available to purchase on ParentPay. A tie is provided to all children when they move from Reception to Year 1. A tie will also be given to all children when they move from Year 4 to Year 5.

PE Kit

• Black shorts or jogging bottoms & Plain White T-shirt

• Black pumps for indoor & Trainers for outdoor

Jewellery

• Children should not wear earrings to school, unless they are able to remove them and put them back in without assistance

• Pupils may wear plain gold or silver studs which are no bigger than 4mm

• A watch may be worn this does not include a smartwatch

• No other jewellery should be worn in school

• All jewellery is to be removed during PE to comply with health and safety regulations

• The school is not liable for any jewellery that is lost or stolen and teaching staff will not look after jewellery

Hair styles

• The school does not permit children to have ANY haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children. This includes conspicuous markings eg. tramlines and mohicans, or mohican like styles

• No colours or styles which would be considered as extreme are allowed including extremely short haircuts

• We strongly advise that parents/carers check with school before they get their child’s hair cut if they are unsure in anyway as staff are always happy to help

• Long hair must be tied back.

Footwear

 • We believe that it is dangerous for children to wear shoes with platform soles, high heels or sliders in school so we do not allow this. Shoes must be suitable and secure enough for children to be able to run in them

• We do not allow children to wear trainers to school. These are appropriate for sport or as leisure wear but are not in keeping with the smart appearance of our school uniform

• Parents/carers should ensure that all children wear plain black shoes
